We are delighted to announce the appointment of Prof. Dr. George Stefano as our new Executive Editor for Microbes & Immunity (MI).

Prof. Stefano is an internationally recognized scholar currently affiliated with the Mind-Body Medicine Research Council at the Institute for Integrative Health Care and Health Promotion (IGVF), Faculty of Health/School of Medicine, Witten/Herdecke University, Germany.

His research program is highly aligned with the scope of MI, with primary interests including Neuroimmunology, Microbiome-Gut-Brain Axis, Neuroinflammation, Immunomodulation, Host-Microbe Interactions, Neurodegenerative Diseases, Innate Immunity, Microbial Metabolites, CNS Immunology, and Inflammatory Signaling.

Prof. Stefano's profound expertise in the intricate crosstalk between the central nervous system, the immune system, and the microbiome will be invaluable to the journal. As an Executive Editor, he will play a pivotal role in guiding the journal's academic direction, ensuring the rigor of our peer-review process, and attracting high-quality research from leading experts worldwide.
