Microbes & Immunity (MI) is pleased to announce the recruitment of Youth Editorial Board Members. We invite outstanding early-career researchers with strong expertise in microbiology, immunology, and microbe–host interactions to join our editorial team and contribute to the continued development of the journal.
MI is an international, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing fundamental, translational, and clinical research at the interface of microbes and the immune system. The establishment of the Youth Editorial Board aims to engage emerging scientific leaders and strengthen the journal’s academic vitality and global visibility.
Role and Responsibilities
Youth Editorial Board Members will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board and are expected to:

Participate in the peer-review process and provide high-quality, timely reviews

Contribute to the development of special issues or thematic collections
-
Support the journal’s academic outreach and visibility within the research community
-
Provide input on emerging research trends in microbiology and immunology
-
Uphold high standards of scientific rigor and publication ethics
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Hold a PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree
-
Be within 10 years of obtaining the terminal degree (recommended)
-
Have a solid publication record in relevant fields, including but not limited to:
-
Microbial pathogenesis and host defense
-
Innate and adaptive immunity
-
Microbiome–immune system interactions
-
Infectious diseases and immune-mediated disorders
-

Demonstrate enthusiasm for academic service and editorial work
