This thematic compilation explores the profound significance and challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing operational efficiency, accuracy, and sustainability in Architecture and Civil Engineering (ACE) practices. As AI rapidly reshapes industries worldwide, it is imperative to investigate its applications in ACE. From automated design processes and predictive modeling to intelligent infrastructure management, AI offers unprecedented solutions that streamline workflows and optimize resource utilization. However, the application of AI in ACE also faces challenges in urban data security and privacy protection, algorithm explainability, and adaptability. Additionally, technological advancements may impact traditional ACE education and work patterns, necessitating the formulation of strategies to address these changes and challenges. To better promote the application and development of AI in ACE, further research is required in relevant theories and practices.
