The Editorial Office of Gene & Protein in Disease (GPD) and AccScience Publishing would like to express our sincere appreciation to Prof. Annalisa Pastore and Prof. Wei Wang for their valuable service, academic leadership, and contributions as the former Co-Editors-in-Chief of GPD.
Prof. Pastore and Prof. Wang officially concluded their service as Co-Editors-in-Chief in September 2026. During their tenure, they played important roles in guiding the journal's academic development, strengthening its editorial standards, and supporting its growth as an international platform dedicated to advancing research on the molecular mechanisms underlying human diseases, with particular emphasis on genes, proteins, and their biological and clinical significance.
Under their editorial leadership, and with the collective efforts of the Editorial Board, reviewers, authors, and publishing team, GPD has made meaningful progress in its development. The journal has continued to expand its international academic network, publish high-quality research articles and reviews across diverse areas of molecular and biomedical sciences, and enhance its scholarly visibility through growing readership, citations, and coverage in academic indexing and discovery platforms. Their academic expertise, professional guidance, and commitment have contributed to establishing a valuable foundation for the journal's continued development.
GPD sincerely thanks Prof. Pastore and Prof. Wang for their time, dedication, scientific expertise, and valuable contributions to the journal. Their leadership and support have been greatly appreciated and will remain an important part of GPD's development history.
As GPD enters a new chapter under the leadership of its newly appointed Co-Editors-in-Chief, Prof. Kenneth Blum and Prof. Panayotis K. Thanos, the journal will continue to build upon the foundation established by its previous editorial leadership. GPD remains committed to maintaining rigorous editorial standards, fostering international academic collaboration, and publishing innovative, high-quality research that advances our understanding of genes, proteins, and their roles in human health and disease.
The Editorial Office and AccScience Publishing extend their heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Annalisa Pastore and Prof. Wei Wang for their service and contributions to GPD. We wish both professors continued success in their academic, research, and professional endeavors and look forward to opportunities for future scholarly collaboration.
