Chronic inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract is a well-established driver of tumorigenesis, bridging molecular disruptions with clinical manifestations.
This Special Issue explores the full continuum of gut inflammation and cancer—from the underlying immune and microbiome-related mechanisms to translational research, prevention, and global public health strategies.
We welcome original research, reviews, and perspectives that uncover the interplay between chronic intestinal inflammation, genetic susceptibility, microbial dysbiosis, and tumor progression. Studies that incorporate novel biomarkers, therapeutic targets, or predictive models for inflammation-associated cancers are particularly encouraged.
Emphasizing real-world application and health equity, we aim to highlight advances that not only deepen scientific understanding but also inform clinical practice and policy across diverse healthcare systems.
Contributions addressing disparities in care, implementation science, and context-specific solutions in low-resource environments are particularly welcome, as are multidisciplinary approaches integrating immunology, oncology, microbiology, and public health.
